Private Client

Becker Glynn has a long history of representing high-net worth individuals and families in matters relating to their personal, as well as commercial, concerns. The Firm acts as outside general counsel and advisor to address our clients’ specific needs from a holistic perspective and to provide advice concerning a wide variety of issues relating to their businesses, investments and wealth succession planning. We also counsel clients with respect to matters concerning estate planning, tax, real estate, family disputes and business organization. Our goal is to communicate clearly and openly, to serve as a confidential sounding board and to provide practical advice. 

The concerns of many of our high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients extend internationally. These clients often have assets, businesses and family members located in multiple jurisdictions. We are tasked with developing complex international trust and holding structures for investments. We work with these clients to manage and facilitate the transfer of their assets, such as companies, real estate, farms and ranches, marketable and non-marketable investments, artwork and private aircraft. Often our work with private clients and their family offices requires us to work in close collaboration with their foreign legal counsel, many of which are the leading firms in their home countries.   

We also advise our international clients with respect to a wide variety of tax compliance matters, including voluntary disclosure programs and informational reporting requirements. These clients require in-depth tax expertise, both in the transfer tax and income tax areas.

Complementing our private client practice is a strong, traditional trust and estate practice that provides tax and succession planning, as well as counsel with respect to the administration of trusts and estates.

As part of our private client practice, we represent U.S. executives, management groups and fund managers. We assist these clients in starting up companies, and routinely advise them on their equity plans and arrangements, and on deferred compensation plans.
