Becker Glynn Announces New Managing Partner
Becker Glynn is pleased to announce that Patrick J. O’Brien will become its new managing partner, effective January 1, 2026. Mr. O’Brien succeeds Robert C. Muffly, who served as the firm’s managing partner from March 1989 through December 2025. Under Mr. Muffly’s stewardship, Becker Glynn grew from a small team of attorneys in 1989 to nearly 40 practitioners today. Mr. Muffly will continue his practice as a partner and will assume the new role of Chairman, remaining actively involved in the firm’s management.
Mr. O’Brien has been a member of the firm’s corporate practice group since 2003 and a partner since 2008. He maintains a broad corporate practice with particular focus on representing development finance institutions and other investors in debt and equity transactions in Latin America. For the past five years, he has served as Chair of the corporate practice group.
Mr. O’Brien’s elevation to managing partner drew unanimous support from the firm’s partners and reflects the firm’s commitment to thoughtful governance and deliberate succession planning.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. O’Brien said: “I would like to thank Rob for almost four decades of tireless and effective leadership of the firm. He has contributed immensely to the firm’s growth and its strong foundation for the future. I look forward to continuing to work closely with him, and all of the firm’s partners, to ensure the firm’s success for many years to come.”
With Mr. Muffly’s counsel as Chairman and Mr. O’Brien’s leadership as Managing Partner, Becker Glynn is well-positioned to serve our clients with the same responsiveness, judgment, and dedication that have defined the firm for decades. We look forward to this exciting new chapter.
