International

Becker, Glynn, Muffly, Chassin & Hosinski LLP has maintained a decidedly international orientation from its founding. More than the typical proportion of our clientele are non-United States corporations and individuals, and a majority of our work involves transactions or activities which cross national boundaries. Every other aspect of our practice intersects, to a greater or lesser degree, with our international work. In addition to the description below, you may wish to see the relevant page for the various substantive areas described.

Becker Glynn can assist foreign entities with setting up US operations including advice related to employment and benefit matters and leasing.

We represent European, Latin American, and Asian industrial and financial firms in their U.S. activities, and U.S. businesses in investments and acquisitions abroad. In addition, we have a large practice involving the international investment and planning activities of wealthy foreign individuals and families.

Our corporate practice regularly involves the creation, acquisition, or disposition of United States subsidiaries of foreign entities, the acquisition or disposition of United States assets on their behalf, and similar activities involving the investments of foreign individuals. The firm’s involvement in commercial transactions of all types regularly involves cross-border transactions where the firm represents either the domestic or foreign party.

Similarly, our finance practice regularly includes transactions involving multiple jurisdictions. The Firm has special competence in the various structuring, political, contractual, and legal opinion issues raised by cross-border financial transactions.

The Firm regularly handles the United States litigation needs of its foreign clients, both in federal and state courts, and has assisted foreign and domestic clients with the United States aspects of international litigation. The Firm’s arbitration practice regularly involves prosecuting and defending arbitrations in locations in the United States and abroad.
