ROBIN L. ALPERSTEIN is a partner in the litigation group of Becker Glynn Melamed & Muffly LLP. Ms. Alperstein concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation, with a particular focus on class action and derivative litigation in federal and state courts. Ms. Alperstein has litigated claims for alleged securities fraud under a variety of federal and state statutes, as well as RICO violations, business torts, complex domestic and international contract disputes, and unfair competition matters, including antitrust and theft of trade secrets cases. Ms. Alperstein has represented financial institutions, technology companies, communications companies, a major insurance carrier, and Fortune 500 companies, as well as privately held companies, boards of directors, individual directors, board committees and company officers. In addition, Ms. Alperstein has advised boards of directors, majority shareholders and individual directors regarding their fiduciary and other obligations.
Prior to joining the Firm in 2007, Ms. Alperstein was a counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP and an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York.
Education
Ms. Alperstein received her B.A. in Modern Studies in 1987 from the University of Virginia in 1987; her M.A. in Public Policy in 1992 from the University of Chicago; and her J.D. in 1996 from New York University School of Law, where she graduated Order of the Coif and received the National Association of Women Lawyers Award at graduation.

Ms. Alperstein is admitted to practice in the state of New York, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the First and Ninth Circuits. She is also a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Committee on Women in the Profession), the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
