MICHAEL DOUGHERTY is a partner in the Firm's tax, corporate, and international groups. Mr. Dougherty has broad experience in the tax area representing domestic and foreign businesses and private clients. He spends a significant amount of time advising foreign businesses and families with regard their US investments. Mr. Dougherty also has significant experience advising and structuring private equity funds and representing managers and executives on compensation matters.
Before joining Becker, Glynn in 2003, Mr. Dougherty was a partner of the firm Richards & O'Neil, from 1984-2001, and then of its successor firm, Bingham McCutchen.
Education
Mr. Dougherty received his undergraduate degree from Boston College (1971) and received a J.D. and LLM (Tax) from N.Y.U. Law School, where he was on the Law Review and taught in the graduate tax program.

Mr. Dougherty is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
