RICHARD S. BASHNER is a partner of Becker, Glynn, Melamed & Muffly LLP and heads the firm's real estate practice. His experience is broad, and includes commercial real estate acquisitions and sales, leasing, financing, development, workouts, and litigation.

In his over twenty years of practice, Mr. Bashner has emphasized early involvement in transactions, to assist clients in developing the strategy and tactics needed to accomplish their goals, whether large businesses and institutions, small start-up companies, or individuals.

Mr. Bashner is involved in community real estate development work, both in his legal practice and as a member of Brooklyn's Community Board 6 for the past ten years. He has served as Chair of Community Board 6 since January, 2007, and previously served as Chair of its Community Development Committee and Co-Chair of its Economic Development Committee.

Mr. Bashner joined the firm in 1994, after extensive experience with two of New York's well-regarded large firms and as a law clerk to Federal District Court Judge Edward R. Korman (Eastern District of New York).

Education

He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1981 in Psychology, and was named a Harvard Scholar. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1985, where he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Prize for Constitutional Law.
